IFF’s Executive Director – Chicago Metro Region Vickie Lakes-Battle recently gave an interview with WSCR-AM 670 Score Values, discussing Chicago’s Cultural Treasures, the application period for Culture Forward Chicago, and the importance of art to Chicago and the surrounding area.
“It’s about the preservation of heritage and culture,” Vickie said. “Across the US and across the state of IL and throughout Chicagoland, we have so many different cultural traditions, and it’s what makes us unique and what makes us wonderful. So part of this initiative, what we really aimed to do, is promote through grantmaking financial resilience and, hopefully to some extent financial sustainability, so that these organizations are around and able to contribute their traditions for years to come.”
